THE BLENDER BENDER
Smoothies are the best way to get a good, healthy breakfast or snack in a flash. Thus, it is important to have a durable and reliable blender.
Probably the number one bestseller for blenders is the Vitamix TurboBlend 4500 2-Speed Blender priced at $346.77. It has a heavy-duty two plus peak horsepower motor with a two speed control and allegedly has a virtually unbreakable 64-ounce, polycarbonate container. It also has thermally protected motor for optimum performance. The Vitamix TurboBled measures 20-1/2 by 7-1/4 by 8-3/4 inches. Although it doesn't come with any other attachment, it includes a 95-page recipe book, manual, and a 5-year warranty.
Another good blender in the market is the Waring MX1000 2-Speed Blender tagged at $329. It boasts of a professional grade 3.0-horsepower motor and its two-speed options with pulse action. It also has a 64-ounce polycarbonate pitcher with integrated blades and nonslip handle and is 19 inches in height. It is, however, a bit oversized; weighing 15 pounds with no other attachment. The blender also comes with a 2 year warranty.
Gaining popularity is the KitchenAid KSB560 Blender that sells as low as $84 and as high as $99. It has a shatter-resistant pitcher that withstands boiling, freezing, and even 2,000 lbs. of pressure; with steel-reinforced coupler for reliability. It's smaller, at only 15.2 inches in height and weighs only 11.5 lbs. But what's great about this blender is that it has five speed options with clean-touch control pads. Plus the fact that it's a way lot cheaper.
There is no need to bend over backwards to afford a good blender. The KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender will most certainly do. If you want a hard drive, check out ssd performance.
