Holidays during Ramadam...
The holy month of Ramadam is due to commence around the October 14th. During this time Muslims will commemorate by abstaining from all food, drink, and smoking from dawn to dusk. As a sign of respect, visitors are requested to refrain from consuming these items in public places during this period. Restaurants wil compensate for this by screening off areas in selected restaurants for eating during the day. In the city, food is generally available in western outlets but tourists should be discreet whilst in the city and rural areas.
