Things to see and do in Bamburi Beach
Kenya is a country of dramatic contrasts. It possesses an extraordinary variety of natural habitats and terrain, from coral reefs to open grasslands and tropical forests, snow-capped volcanoes to arid desert.
Its national parks and game reserves are among the best in Africa with mile upon mile of uncrowded talcum-white sands, most of them protected by the long coral reefs - safe for swimming and excellent for water sports - the Kenya Coast is an ideal year round beach destination.
5 nights safari includes overnight stay and treetops visit to Lake Naivasha and the Masai Mara game reserve. Mountains, lakes and plains combined into a short safari packed with interest. Comfortable accommodation that will ensure you a memorable journey.
Thorn Tree safari:
Day 1: Depart Kenya airways from Heathrow to Nairobi.
Day 2: You will be met on arrival and taken to the Somak safari lounge where you can freshen up and store any additional luggage. There may be a wait in Nairobi before departing to the Outspan Hotel on the slopes of Aberdares (175kms), spend the remainder of the day at leisure with overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Spend the morning at leisure and enjoy lunch at the Outspan. In the afternoon travel to treetops where game can be viewed from the many balconies overlooking the waterhole and saltlick. Please limit your luggage to an overnight bag. The lodge's own transport is used to transfer to and from the Treetops. Overnight at the Treetops.
Day 4: Drive to Lake Naivasha (245kms), spend the afternoon at leisure at Lake Naivasha Country Club or Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge or choose from a range of optional excursions including guided walks with naturalists (pay and book locally).
Day 5: Descend to the floor of The Great Rift Valley and into the Masai Mara (300kms). Arrive at the Mara Simba Lodge in time for lunch before taking an afternoon game drive.
Day 6: After breakfast return to Nairobi. You will be met on arrival before proceeding with your flight to Mombasa for your beach extension.
